Greetings from the great state of Ohio!

I am currently teaching at Ottawa County Christian Academy and this will be my fifth year of teaching here. This year I will be teaching 7th and 8th which I am excited to be doing. My first two years I taught 6th-9th grade. For the last two years I have been teaching 5th and 6th grade. My degree is in secondary education and this was something different for me. Going into upper elementary was trying at first but in the end, I enjoyed every minute. I am sure my students have a different opinion. 😊 Teaching 5th and 6th grade has taught me a new level of patience.

I live in Oak Harbor, Ohio which is in between Toledo and Sandusky. Both places provide multiple things to do. I am also about 10 minutes away from Lake Erie which provides more things to do if you do not mind the algae. Oak Harbor is small town with that small-town feel.

Living in a small town can show you how big God is. With a town of about 3,000 people and multiple different churches, our church thrives. About two years ago the church added a new auditorium and has had no problems with filling it on a Sunday. Our school was also grown in the last two years. This year we have just a little of over forty students. It may not sound like much but for us that is a blessing!

In college it was easy to relay on God for your needs. Living on your own and away from your family teaches you a different kind of faith. The last few years God has taught me to put my trust in Him when things do not go my way. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Isaiah 26:3 has been the versus I have looked to when I do not understand my next path in life. God has blessed my life even when I do not deserve it.
