Stephanie Campos
Stephanie began riding the church bus to Fairhaven as a pre-schooler. Each Saturday, she received a token from the bus workers with a Bible verse to memorize for the next day. She rarely, if ever, missed a week riding the church bus. Bus workers visited her each week and were glad to do so, in part because Stephanie's mom often greeted them with some delicious, homemade Mexican cuisine.
Stephanie started coming to midweek church and worked hard at her Master's Club assignments. In the summer, she was challenged both physically and spiritually at Camp Fairhaven. Soon, her parents enrolled her and her sisters in Fairhaven Baptist Academy.
When she was in 7th grade, Stephanie's family moved closer to Fairhaven so they could be more active in the church. She went on retreats and attended many Empowered Youth meetings and Preaching Conferences. As a member of the teen group, Stephanie climbed the Grand Canyon and visited Utah. She jumped right into working in the bus ministry, transitioning directly from "bus rider" to "bus worker."
All of these things, along with some tough decisions to separate from the world, brought Stephanie to the place where she wants to serve God with her life. While she studies secondary education during the week, she uses her weekends to encourage other bus riders to follow the path that she is on.
