Shikhikhutag Bayaraa

Two years ago Shikhikhutag Bayaraa came to the United States as an exchange student from his native Mongolia. Having been born and raised in Mongolia, Shikhee was excited about this opportunity to live in an "interesting" country. However it was soon determined by school officials that his grasp of the English language was too limited to succeed and he would be sent back home.

Before returning to Mongolia, Shikhee went to visit his sister Mandi in Oklahoma. Mandi had also come to the United States as an exchange student a few years before Shikhee. She had been placed with a Christian family in Oklahoma which eventually resulted in her salvation. While visiting his sister, Shikhee was witnessed to and after a couple of days was saved. He followed the Lord in baptism before returning to Mongolia.

Shikhee returned home to a mom, Ouynou, who had been saved as a result of the efforts of Mandi and missionary Jason Muller, a graduate of Fairhaven Baptist College. Shikhee and his mother became faithful members of the church the Mullers were establishing. As Shikhee grew in Christ his desire to learn more did as well. Missionary Muller told him about Fairhaven Baptist College; and after praying about attending Fairhaven, he followed the Lord's leading and enrolled in the fall of 2003.

While attending Fairhaven Baptist College, Shikhee has kept himself busy with his studies, ministries, and working for Mr. Todd Wright in the school kitchen. He has been involved in Mr. John Rinehart's fifth and sixth grade Sunday School class and on a bus route in Gary. He greatly enjoys his classes and hopes to learn and grow in order to eventually go back to help Brother Muller in Mongolia.
