Fall 2007

We had a wonderful fall with our buses averaging 1,778 and seeing many souls saved. On September 23rd we celebrated our 37th anniversary praising God for all His goodness.

The thing that excites me about Fairhaven Baptist Church is that we have become stronger as a congregation with each passing year. The major reason for this over the past 15 years has been our preaching staff. We have five assistants, including my son Jeff heading up the college and music, and my son-in-law Steve Damron as our youth pastor and handling the finances. Dan Armacost recruits students and teaches Greek and Hebrew among many other things. My other son-in-law Don Whitecar is the principal of the academy and teaches. All are bus captains and stay extremely busy in ministries. Of course, Dr. John Kenderdine is our future pastor and is working hard at "learning the ropes." All of these men have exemplary wives who never hold their husbands back and are hard-working helpmeets. I praise God for these and the rest of our faithful staff along with a large group of outstanding Christians.

August 19th was our 40th wedding anniversary for Sharon and me. God was very good to me when He gave her to me. I of course loved her at the time but had no idea what a good woman she was. Fairhaven would be a shell of what it is now if I had married out of God's will.
